Hi, I’m Georgina

I grew up with a fear of failure. So I did everything possible to make sure I never failed. It meant I excelled at school and later in the corporate world. It also meant that I hid my mental health struggles for the best part of a decade. I was afraid of what others would think. I wanted my friends and colleagues to see me as happy and successful, not fragile and insecure.

I tried many things to address my moods from talking therapies to self-help books. Each had its merits, but I knew they could only ever be sticking plasters. I had an education in Biomedical Science and understood anxiety and depression to be chemical imbalances. How could talking be expected to address those? I didn’t like the idea of antidepressants so I chose to manage my ups and downs with exercise. I burnt the candle at both ends, distracting myself from my thoughts as much as possible, and accepted this as my ‘normal’.

Then four years ago, I had the opportunity to work with a leadership and development coach who encouraged me to do a life audit. I looked at where I was and where I wanted to be, and realised I would never achieve my life ambitions unless I first tackled my mental health. This was defining moment for me.

I committed to making changes. I found that mindfulness helped me detach from my automatic negative thoughts. A good start. I began to appreciate that the body and brain are interconnected, and that good brain function depends on key body systems working well.

Slowly I started to join the dots. With the help of some testing, I discovered what my underlying imbalances were. I finally understood why I felt the way I did and what I could do about it. It was really empowering! I then used diet, lifestyle and targeted supplementation to heal my gut, rebalance my hormones and restore my mental wellbeing.

I now have great energy, a clear mind and better mental resilience than ever before. In life there will always be challenges, but now that I know what my individual needs are, there are very few dark days.

I am passionate about redefining mental health as brain health, and mood disorders as physical imbalances. Now I help women like me to address the root causes of their symptoms, so that they too can take back control and experience the happiness, peace and wholeness they deserve.

“When you look at food as information, and understand that the mind either strives or thrives on the basis of that information, you realise that you are more in control of your mental wellbeing than you ever realised.”

Georgina’s mindset principles

  • Nutrition is the one of the five pillars of good mental wellbeing along with sleep, exercise, stress reduction and connection.

  • A nutrient dense diet can be practical, enjoyable and achievable for everyone.

  • When we give our bodies the ingredients it needs for balance, we feel better and get more from life.

  • You don’t have to be really unwell to see huge benefits from optimising your nutrition.

  • Ill health is not a natural part of ageing. We do not have to deteriorate as we get older.

  • When you understand how nutrition and lifestyle affect your wellbeing, you are more motivated to eat well and make positive lifestyle changes.

“I have a greater awareness of nutrition as a wellbeing modality. I feel empowered to make decisions which will make me feel great both physically and mentally. Knowledge is power, power equals action, and action equals results.”
